A rescue dog named Shadow showed the world that dogs could pilot planes as part of United Kingdom's Sky 1's Dogs Might Fly show. Watch for yourself.

It's pretty clear that dogs are awesome. They save lives, performe amazing tricks and make pretty great cuddle buddies. But, one pup raised the bar on canine perfection recently when it piloted a plane.

Yes, a rescue dog named Shadow swapped playing fetch for playing co-pilot as part of United Kingdom's Sky 1's Dogs Might Fly show. Twelve stray dogs were chosen from rescue shelters across the country and taken through a series of skill tests. Ultimately, three pups made it to flight school including Shadow, whose episode airs April 6.

So, how does a pooch properly pilot a plane? The trainer used buttons and treats to tell him which way to turn.
