Earlier this month, 37
chefs from around the world swapped restaurants--no, lives--in the crazy fun
Gelinaz! Chef Shuffle. The most exciting twist? Diners had no idea what to
expect (all of the chefs' whereabouts and menus were kept secret). Now
Four Seasons is getting in on the fun across their North American portfolio of
luxury properties, with a new series of experimental mystery dinners
throughout the summer that kicked off earlier this month. Unlike Gelinaz,
guests will know one thing for sure: the property chef will be masterminding
each event and leading his or her own kitchen crew. The only other details
announced ahead of time will be the evening's theme and a meeting
point—the setting and the food are all revealed as the night unfolds.
Among the upcoming (and somewhat cryptic) themes: "Undercover Red, White,
and Blue" in St. Louis, "Glamping" in Baltimore, and "A Street-Art
Named Four Season" in Miami. And if it's all a bit vague-sounding,
here's an example of how a recent dinner played out. For the water-themed
pop-up in Denver, guests were taken up to the hotel's rooftop pool terrace,
where a raw bar, tequila tasting, and performances by synchronized swimmers
set the stage for a multi-course seafood dinner at another undisclosed
location. Want to get in on the fun? The dinners are open to all hotel
guests and should be booked in advance—a full schedule and booking
instructions can be found here. The series incudes events in cities from
Whistler to Orlando and lasts through September. More good reads from
